Yoga in Arctic Forest

Feel the nature around you, unwind, unplug and relax.

Forest yoga is fun, relaxing and refreshing experience. We are connecting our breathe to the movement and finding balance to our body. Forest gives unique surrounding to our practice and every time is different than before. 

Practice is made mostly in standing position, but we are going to lean on the trees and maybe even sit on the ground. So do not dress on your best outfit for this experience! You can bring a blanket to make you warm and something to sit on (a mat or seat pad). This tour is cancelled during heavy rain, but gentle rain does not stop us for doing yoga!

What's included?

Opening our senses to the nature, wandering and experiencing nature connection in the Arctic nature. We perform some relaxed and simple forest yoga and breathing exercises to calm down our nervous system. We will end our practice with meditation and relaxation.

Yoga instructor is Minna Kataja, Arctic Sky (RYT 200 astanga, hatha, yin). Teaching in English, Finnish or bilingual.

Attendants are not insured by organizer. Participation on own risk. 

What do I need to bring?

Dress up with comfortable clothes that can get dirty. You can bring a sitting pad, blanket and water bottle with you, but they are optional.

Connecting to Arctic Nature

Find connection to the nature around you. Unplug for a moment and just feel the nature and touch the silence.

We are opening our senses to the nature, wandering and experiencing deep nature connection in the Arctic nature. We perform some relaxed and simple yoga and breathing exercises to calm down our nervous system. During this tour we will explore nature with all our senses - hear, see, smell, touch, taste.

Practice is made mostly in standing position, but we are going to lean to the trees and maybe even sit on the ground. So do not dress on your best outfit for this experience!

This nature connection tour is inspired by Japanese nature therapy called Shinrin yoku. It is proven to reduce stress hormone production and improve the quality of sleep and overall happiness. It can also boost your memory, energy and immune system, low your blood sugar level and reduce high blood pressure, help recover from illness and it is good for bloodstream and metabolism.

We do this practice in the forest and we are leaning to trees and sitting on the ground during this class. Close contact to nature might leave marks on your clothes!

During this tour, we have a good opportunity to disconnect to your mobile phone and be present to ourselves. So please, turn your phone off or to flight mode before attending.

What do I need to bring?

Your guide will be 34-year old Minna, who is a nature lover from Finnish Lapland. She is a yoga teacher RYT200 (hatha and astanga, Rishikul Yogshala 2014), an educated mushroom and wild herb specialist, canoeing instructor and a construction engineer. Currently she studies herbal therapy and concludes the 300H yoga teacher program (yin and yoga therapy, Chi Therapeutics). Teaching in English, Finnish or bilingual.

We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 14 days or less before event

Wild food souvenir workshop

In this tour, we are enjoying our time wandering in arctic nature, getting to know useful things about wild food, learning of freedom to roam in Finland and gathering seasonal goods. What we get from nature is depending on season and weather!

From our self-picked goods, we will prepare some tastings and wild food souvenir to bring home with you. We enjoy wild herb snacks and herbal infusion in the end of this tour.
